BENKT

Since my last post Victoria and I have exhibited in Paris and London, and I wanted to share one of our projects with you. In London we were part of the exhibition 100% Norway and presented the duo BENKT, which consist of a bench and a blanket. The bench is inspired by traditional Scandinavian kitchen benches, and is made with natural and pure materials; pinewood, leather and Norwegian produced wool textile. The blanket is made with traditional weaving technique in brightly colored wool, and manufactured with the help of Røros Tweed. The photos are taken by the talented photographer Kaja Bruskeland. Please visit our brand new website gunzlerpolmar.no to see more of our work.

The State of Things – Tingenes Tilstand!

Finally our design exhibition Tingenes Tilstand is opened, and it is really a collection of amazing products! In April, we sent each of the exhibitors a box with carefully selected everyday objects (like the ones above), and they were challenged to design a product or piece of furniture inspired by the box and its content. This resulted in 17 objects, by 18 exciting Norwegian designers, that are all interpretations of the same design brief.

We had a lot of guests on our opening party last night, and many visitors today. Hopefully the rest of the weekend will be busy as well. As I promised the entire exhibition is presented on our website www.k-l-u-b-b-e-n.no/tt  Please stop by and have a look! I´m so incredibly proud and happy with the result!

Design exhibition: Tingenes Tilstand

It´s been quiet here lately, because I have some  projects that keeps me really busy. Most importantly; together with Sverre and Victoria I´m arranging a design exhibition in Oslo called “Tingenes Tilstand” (The State of Things).

More than six months ago we invited a group of  talented and exciting product and furniture designers to develop brand new work based on a given design brief. I´m proud to say that in my opinion the participants really are among the best in Norway! In two weeks we open, Thursday August 30th – September 2, at Galleri TM51 in Oslo.

For those of you who can´t make it to Oslo, we will launch a website where we will publish all the work, the same day as the exhibition opens. Unfortunately I can not reveal the work just yet, but I promise I will in a few weeks!

Exhibitors:

Victoria Günzler, Sara Wright Polmar, Sverre Uhnger, Kristine Bjaadal, Kristine Five Melvær, Gridy, Hallgeir Homstvedt, Petter Skogstad, Martin Solem, Siv Lier, Erlend Bleken, Maria Bjørlykke, Siren Elise Wilhelmsen, Marianne Andersen, Caroline Olsson, Ida Noemi, and Thomas Jenkins

Kitchen stuff

As I mentioned in an earlier post we have bought an apartment that is being built and won´t be ready for another 15-18 months. But, this autumn we are actually going to design and order our kitchen! We don´t have a plan yet, but a lot of wishes, and a lot of different things we like. I think we will go for something quite clean and neutral when it comes to the kitchen itself, and then spice it up with fun furniture and details to give it personality. Here is a small selection of my favorite kitchen accessories at the moment!

1. Hester chair, Habitat

2. Food storage “Gro” by Victoria Günzler

3. Kitchen accessories, HAY

4. Pendant lamp, IKEA PS
