BENKT

Since my last post Victoria and I have exhibited in Paris and London, and I wanted to share one of our projects with you. In London we were part of the exhibition 100% Norway and presented the duo BENKT, which consist of a bench and a blanket. The bench is inspired by traditional Scandinavian kitchen benches, and is made with natural and pure materials; pinewood, leather and Norwegian produced wool textile. The blanket is made with traditional weaving technique in brightly colored wool, and manufactured with the help of Røros Tweed. The photos are taken by the talented photographer Kaja Bruskeland. Please visit our brand new website gunzlerpolmar.no to see more of our work.

Spotted Hooks and Mirror

I´m so excited that Danish furniture chain Bolia have now launched their first günzler.polmar product – Spotted Hooks and Spotted Mirror. We (Victoria Günzler and I) designed this about a year ago, and even though is feels like a long time this has actually been an efficient process. I don´t have much experience but I believe that it usually takes even longer from an initial idea to a final product is launched.

It is great to see our work realized in the “real world”, and not just as prototypes laying around, gathering dust in our homes! And I have to admit it´s really cool to see our products and our portraits in the beautiful Bolia 2013 catalog. To think that our work will be hanging in homes in several countries is quite amazing!

Look to Norway

Look to Norway consists of ten young Norwegian designers who joined together to show their work during the Designers Open in Leipzig. They are all students at different design schools in the country and the idea was to build bridges between the different institutions. It´s a great concept and a good mix of talented people. For images and info on all the products and participants check out the Look to Norway website.
